Endless Articles Ideas: What Everyone Wants to Read

Monday, December 12th, 2011

Have freezer eye? You know, you stare at the computer long enough hoping to figure out which article ideas to write about only to have your eyes freeze. You ask yourself, “What do visitors want to read? What do I like writing about? What have I already written? What pertains to my website or blog? What will help sales? What will help people sign up for my newsletter?” And the main question most people ask, “What am I an expert on so I feel confident enough to write about?”, so on and so on.

Well, you don’t necessarily have to be an expert on anything for your article ideas. Yeah, that’s right.

Instead of feeling like an expert why not take a journalistic approach. Are journalists experts when they report on an event or when they conduct an interview? No, most likely not or someone would be interviewing them, right? But in many cases they have discovered a problem and are looking for a solution. It just so happens that the solution is found somewhere else.

How do you find the problems? How do you find the solutions? Well, here’s how I do it.

I. QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK ONLINE

1. Search Engines.

Plug in different questions into Google and other search engines. I would use at least 2 for each search. Play with word combinations.

-For example, for my site’s theme regarding how to make desserts cupcakes is a big market. I admit cupcakes are not something I make a lot, so by no means am I an expert on cupcakes, but I have good content about the market and different niches on some of my pages. I found that many people were asking “how to deliver cupcakes” in Yahoo questions and in blogs. So after much playing with word combinations I found that, “how to transport cupcakes” wasn’t quite as competitive as, “how to deliver cupcakes”. In this case I created a written interview for another webmaster that has a website for cake and cupcake decorating. I took her answers and wrote up an article and plugged in backlinks to both our sites.

2. Your Site’s Statistics Dashboard.

What are the long tail searches people are typing in the search engines to find your site? For me many people ask “how to” questions asking for solutions: “how to send chocolate covered strawberries in mail”, “how to package chocolate covered apples for delivery”, “how to make colored chocolate lollipops”, “how to make filled chocolate candies”, etc. This is a great source of knowledge about both your current visitors and potential visitors.

3. Google Adword Tool.

Find the exact number of monthly searches for different questions. Again play with different word combinations and you will get back a big list. This is one of the best free tools for keyword and phrases searches. Type “Google adword tool” into a search engine to find it, if you haven’t ever used it.

4. Blogs and Discussion Boards.

Practically any market or niche market will have these and they provide a wealth of insight. Search for them and you will find them.

5. Q & A Page from your site. If you already have done the work why do more?

II. SOLUTIONS

There are a few ways to find the solutions.

1) You, the expert. This is the easiest way obviously.

2) Research the answer. Search for it online or in books at the library.

3) Ask an expert. Someone will help you. Think about someone you know or just go ask someone. Send the question to someone’s website, see if they answer. Offer to give them credit in your article. Or offer to conduct a written interview that you email them like I did and give them backlinks to their site or credit if they don’t have a site.

Solutions to problems are what people look for online. This is one of the primary reasons people use the internet to begin with. And the value of a well written article or page on your site with the solutions to these problems is immense. First, do the research to see which word combinations to use which have the best possible chance of being found.

Only write about 2-3 questions per article, preferably if they are related so the search engines will be more clear about the theme of the article. Break the article into clear and concise paragraphs to make it easy to read and understand.

Would you agree that people are always looking for solutions to problems online? You probably do.

Just think of all the questions you had about creating a website, writing an article, what information to put on your site and all the everyday questions you ask regarding your health, diet, financial questions, parenting, pet care, house repair, car repair, cooking, delivery, entertainment systems, household product reviews, vacation planning, etc. Everything on the internet starts with a question. Every potential visitor to your site has questions that need answers. Find the questions and provide them the answers for your articles and I promise you will never run out of article ideas.

Are Backlinks Still That Important?

Friday, November 11th, 2011

To make money online we all need more website traffic. Website traffic comes in many ways.

On the Internet today there are so many ways to get traffic to a website I would need to write an ebook and not an article to list all of them. This raises the question of whether backlinks are still as important as they were in the past to make money.

I like to think of the number of backlinks I have as a vote for my site. A backlink is when you have your website address on somebody else’s website.

Your total number of backlinks would be how many unique web pages are linking to your home page or inner web pages. Search engines look at your backlinks as a sign of importance or popularity.

You can not always control who links to you. As a matter of fact it is to your benefit to have viral back linking going on. This is where people are linking to you naturally.

This could be linking to a blog post you made. It might be putting your homepage link in an article they write, or online in some other way.

When you look at the World Wide Web you see it is made up of links. For that reason backlinks will always be important. Backlinks are a barometer as to who is paying attention to your site.

How can you get more backlinks?

Article marketing still works. However, I like to use a submission site called Submit Your Article. They have an article leverage program that allows you to rewrite your articles so the article directories are getting unique versions of the article.

Your link is in the resource box of every article that goes out. The more unique versions of that article that are published online the more backlinks you are going to get.

You can also put a hyperlinked keyword phrases in the body of the article to be submitted into their blog network. This is a way to spread the number of links you’re getting around.

From a search engine optimization standpoint backlinks are still very important. This is the best way to rank for a targeted keyword phrase.

Hyperlink that keyword phrase back to a specific page that targets it. As you increase the number of links you are getting you will climb in the rankings.

Backlinks from pages with a higher page rank carry more weight with Google. However, over time even pages that do not rank high now can increase in rankings which will benefit you.

Backlinks are still very important. It’s the one way you can control where your site ranks for your own targeted keyword phrases.

How To Be Sure That You Get Quality Links

By Byron Dyson

In relation to search engine optimization backlinks are one of the most important parts. There are several approaches to do this. You can rely on someone else or you can do all of the work by yourself. Outsourcing this tedious task is amongst the easiest methods of getting better search engine results.

The kind of backlinks they supply is the very first thing that you have to consider whenever you hire a new service. There are several varieties of links, and some of the most typical consist of profile links, article links, and directory submissions. When it comes to SEO you will have to make sure you hire different services so you can diversify your link portfolio.

Comprehending the proof they will provide you is the next step along the way. Most backlinking services offer some type of a report, but you need to make sure that the report that they offer is detailed enough to suit your needs. Find out if they provide genuine URLs to all of your backlinks so you can go in and check that they exist.

You should determine if it is worth your time once you have identified some services you are interested in. Is it smart to outsource this kind of task, or should you do it yourself? You should outsource the majority of of your linkbuilding if you can to enable you to concentrate on building more sites.

If it is possible be sure you can get some reviews from past customers for the service. They will have plenty of reviews and testimonials if they are a solid provider. Things to look for are how fast the service was accomplished and how excellent the communication was with the provider. If they’re a great provider they’ll be in a position to respond to any of your questions.

You will need to show patience when you are using a backlinking service. If you’re links take some time to get indexed you may not see final results right away. It is important to try out different providers to help you figure out which ones are the most reliable. Consistency is another element that is very important for services to begin working properly. Give every service enough time to see results. Once you discover the very best services you will be able to rank any site that you choose.

If you’re doing any Seo work then you might discover a desire to buy backlinks. If that can be the case you’ll need to go to our web site where you could get some good remarkable companies.

Eight Best Places For Building Authoritative One-Way Links

For any online webmaster or marketer, two things will consume most of your time: rankings and traffic. Usually, these two objectives will go hand-in-hand, the higher your rankings the more traffic you will receive. However, as you probably already know, getting higher rankings and traffic can be somewhat difficult.

One of the best ways to achieve both, is to build one-way links from existing authoritative sites on the web.

Now, let’s be honest, building quality one-way links will take some effort and time on your part. However, this can be done much quicker if you know exactly where to look for those authoritative sites or places which will let you create links back to your site.

Here are some good places or sources for Authoritative One-Way link building:

1. Press Releases

Press releases have become what article marketing was just a few years ago… excellent way to get quality one-way links back to your site. You can use both free and paid press releases to get your message out. Many marketers have had success with PRweb, but it can be somewhat costly but highly worth it. A well written press release will usually get picked up and displayed on numerous niche-related sites, boosting both your traffic and rankings.

2. Wikipedia Type Sites

Such places as Wikipedia and Google Knol are also excellent sources of quality one-way links. These can also give you those all important in-content links, as well as links in the resource section of the article. Everything will be theme focused, so your links will carry more PageRank juice in the eyes of Google.

3. Powerful .edu and .gov Link

Mainly because they are seen as non-commercial and coming from prestige sites or institutions, .edu and .gov links are some of the most effective and powerful one-way backlinks you can receive. Try to go out of your way to build these types of links for your site. For example, if you went to a college or university, try getting links from any Alumni pages. If your college has a newsletter section, try to get links there.

4. How To Sites

Yes, we know, Google with its Panda Update and countless follow-up changes to its algorithm, have hit these kinds of sites hard. But the quality ones are still great places to build one-way links. Often if you write a great how-to guide in your niche and place it on these sites, you will get an instant page one Google listing. For starters, try sites like eHow and Squidoo.

5. DoFollow Social Sites and Profiles

If you haven’t noticed, the web has gone social. Some of the best places for authoritative one-way links are in these social networking/bookmarking sites and profiles, especially if you build up your followers and subscribers. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Google+… will all give you opportunities to build your one-way links.

6. Memberships and Testimonials

You must always be pro-active when it comes to link building, so go out of your way to get links from any memberships you may belong to. Also, giving testimonials for your favorite site or product can be another excellent way to get authoritative links as these links are usually displayed on the main/index page of a site.

7. Embedded Videos/Slideshows/Software

Many webmasters have had great success by using embedded software, videos, awards, slideshows… to create one-way links back to their sites. For example, just look at how Slideshare.net builds its backlinks. You can try something similar or use that program to share your content and build your own links.

8. Site And Blog Commenting

While many sites are cracking down or making all their links NoFollow… commenting on blog and sites is still an effective way to get those backlinks. Many online marketers create Google Alerts for their targeted keywords and when any related links are indexed in Google, they get an email. They then thoroughly check out those links to see if it is worth their while to make a comment.

There you have it, some of the best places to help you build your all important authoritative one-way links. Many marketers simply take a few minutes of each day to build these types of links back to their sites. Over time these links will increase and you will receive more traffic and higher rankings as a direct result of these powerful one-way links.

Keeping A Website Ranked On Google

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

One of the best ways to make money online is getting a website ranked on Google. I personally have found it possible to get almost any website ranked on Google.

Whether it’s a keyword phrase that is highly competitive, or a longtail phrase with less competition, it ultimately comes down to getting quality backlinks if you want to rank on Google.

Here’s the hard part. Once you get a website ranked on page 1 of Google, the competition really starts to heat up.

This is really true if you are ranking in the top three for a competitive phrase. When you pass a website, if that owner is paying attention at all, they are going to start working to get their position back.

I have found that this leads to a never ending amount of work to maintain the position you have achieved. If you ease up people are going to pass you back.

I used to be #1 for the keyword phrase make money at home. I was consistently in the top three for the keyword phrase make money online. I continue to rank well for these phrases, but if I don’t work at getting fresh backlinks I find myself on page 2 very quickly.

This is true for other keyword phrases as well. Let’s say you’re trying to rank for a physical product you want to sell as an affiliate. This is one of the main things affiliate marketing gurus will teach you to do.

Target a keyword phrase that has less competition, but gets an adequate amount of monthly searches. You can dig into this more to determine exactly what that means.

Here’s the problem you’re going to run into. Even if you get your site ranked on page 1 of Google, once you move on to building another site and ranking it, you may find the position of your previous site dropping.

This is the real problem with the philosophy of telling people to build one website every month and get ranked. Ultimately with this philosophy you would have 12 websites bringing in money in one year.

If you wanted to pick the pace up on that you could build one website and get it ranked per week. This means you would have around 50 websites bringing in money after one year. That is a real online home business!

The problem is not spending time researching good niches. The problem is not getting the sites built and even getting them ranked. Although that does take time.

The problem is keeping your site ranked high enough that they are bringing you quality traffic that leads to income for you in the future. So what is the solution?

The solution is to outsource getting backlinks. You can get an overseas worker for around $300 a month. Find somebody who’s a specialist on getting backlinks via blogging, article marketing, edu and .gov sites, and so on.

Plan on paying this person for the rest of your life if you want to keep your websites ranked on Google to make money.

How To Craft A Powerful Press Release

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

Your aim, by crafting a press release, is to get publicity. But there is a way of doing this while ensuring that you get something else that can be valuable to you, I am talking about pushing your website up the search engine rankings. So here is a fantastic marketer’s tip: Always make sure that you send your press release out to the online press release websites. The extra bonus that you can gain from doing this is that while you are displaying your press release to the media, in the hope that they decide to run a story based on it, should they not bother to do so you still win! You see you will be spreading backlinks on the web that are great for SEO and loved by the search engines. Your website needs all sorts of links coming into it and these sort are well worth having in the scheme of things.

The press release should always be a major component of your public relations strategy and as such it should be used wisely. When you begin to plan your piece start by thinking of the five “Ws” that you are going to write about. I am referring to the Who, the What, the When, the Where and the Why. These are so important to the success of the press release, as failing to consider them can make the whole exercise a total waste of your time.

Most press pieces are written and distributed by talented PR professionals; but don’t let this put you off as it is certainly not beyond the ability of someone with a good command of English to write one for themselves. Simply aim to keep the following key points in mind as you write.

My top 12 Tips for Writing a Killer Press Release.

1 Capture the media’s attention with a first, short and punchy paragraph. It must communicate the ’5 ‘Ws’ and the rest of the press release will be used to expand on them. The main purpose of any press release should be to inform the media about something newsworthy. It should never be used as simply a means of selling your product, that is the job of an advert. Of course, making sales is a wholly honourable by-product of the press release, but not its main function.

2. Always use your keywords in the title because this is what will give you the SEO juice as it duly spreads across the internet.

3. Avoid, however, any temptation to go after longtail keywords in the title.

4. When writing, always use the third person and never ever use “I”.

5. To add some weight to the press release use quotations to communicate your key message in a lively way. Advice that I was given, was to quote in a tone that conveys how ‘thrilled’ or ‘excited’ you are to be announcing the news.

6. Verbosity is a killer – write only between 300 and 800 words as a rule.

7. Compose a press release that is newsworthy and not simply page of hype. Are you sure that what you are writing about can be considered as news? If it’s not really interesting, or exciting news, then don’t bother the press with it as they are certainly not going to be amused. Also, make sure that you can always back up any claims that you have made in the press release.

8. Everyone loves a story, whether its about your business or specific people.

9. Target your audience or niche by personalising your press release.

10. If you are able to, use hyperlinked anchor text in the body. The search engines like this type of backlink.

11. Add images, videos and audio that relate to your product to give it an edge.

12. Lastly, at the bottom of the press release do remember to include your full name, phone number, mobile and email address so that they can contact you. This strategy should get you backlinks and the chance of media interest in your newsworthy item.

Blog Marketing – Are People Bumping Into Your Links?

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

Build it and they will come does not apply to blog marketing. It is a little bit harder than that, but not much!

Internet marketing in general can be summed up by how many people are finding links to your website. If you put links out online were people have to bump into them you’re going to increase the amount of traffic you get. The same thing is true with blog marketing.

This is why you see some blogs that get a tremendous amount of traffic. When you analyze them closer you see they either have a lot of links pointing back to them, or have been online for a long period of time and are getting good of repeat traffic.

Your goal is to not only get a lot of backlinks, but also to get links from authority sites. Sites that have a better page rank than your blog home page are good sites to try and get links from. Search engines place a higher value on these kind of links.

1. One thing you should be doing is bookmarking every blog post to social directories. I personally use Only Wire to get into more social directories with one click. Social Marker is another site that does this.

You can go to Fiverr.com and pay someone $5 to get backlinks for you. You can get links from edu sites that are an authority site link.

2. Adding videos to your blog is another excellent form of blog marketing. You can submit the videos to shared video sites such as You Tube. I like to use Article Video Robot to create videos and get them submitted into shared video sites.

Adding these videos to your blog is one way to liven your blog up and make it seem more important. People like to watch videos and this can be a more interactive form of blog marketing than just posting content.

3. Other ways to market your blog includes press releases, search engines, article marketing, podcasting, and email marketing. Anything you can do that gets your blog URL online where it will stay for a long period of time is a good thing for you.

4. I’ve had good luck posting in discussion forums. Create a signature file that includes a link back to your blog. This is high quality traffic and the post you make in a discussion forum is a high-quality backlink as well.

All of these things do take time and effort, but if you expect to make money online doing blog marketing, you will need to do them or pay someone to do them.

How to Create Blog Links by Utilizing Whitehat Strategies

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

Link building is a huge factor that you must consider if you truly want your blog to be ranked highly by the search engines for the purpose of getting organic traffic back to your site. But, tons of bloggers believe that in order to get good quality links back to your site, you have to resort to using blackhat strategies, but this is not true. In the follow article, we will look at some of the whitehat link building strategies that can be applied to your blog in the very near future.

Let’s introduce you to a particular technique that tons of people are not using – but it does get the job done quite nicely. Imagine a set of small blogs, called mini-blogs, and they will be sources of linking to your site for off page SEO. You do not need to make long blog entries, but they do need to be relevant and topical to your other blog. However, the kind of links you generate from these mini-blogs won’t be very high value because these mini-blogs don’t have much authority. One note of caution is that it really is necessary to use a different IP, so that means a new hosting account, elsewhere. You can use free services such as Blogger.com and other similar services for your mini blogs. Once that is done, then you can create more backlinks, but drive them to your individual mini blogs. Interview Popular Bloggers: This is a successful technique to use to get bloggers with huge popularity to link to your blog and provide link juice. You can approach these bloggers directly and ask them for an interview that you can publish on your own blog or site. When the interview has been published on your site, you can let them know that the link is available and ask that they link to it. Be certain that the interview is more than just a standard interview. Only include questions that your readers will be interesting in getting answers for. This will help you get the blog post popular and will automatically get you linked to many other blogs in your niche. So this ensures that you are not just conducting an interview to get links, but it will also make other bloggers want to link to you. It’s a win-win situation.

One unique approach is to hold a contest in which you get backlinks for high quality prizes given out. No doubt you will need to come up with worthy prizes for this one. The best contests are those in which it is easy to participate in and there are lots of winners.

This is just a process, and you will need to be patient about it. Once you see the fruits of your labor, then you will see that is was all worth it.

What Are Backlinks And 10 Ways To Get Them?

Saturday, June 4th, 2011

A backlink is where your website shows up on another web page. The World Wide Web is made up of links. The more of them you have pointing to your website the more traffic you can potentially get.

So how do you get more backlinks? I say the answer to this question is to get them in as many different ways as you can. Here are 10 ways to get started with.

1. Article marketing. I have built up thousands of backlinks to my various websites using this strategy. It works.

Write articles around a targeted keyword phrase and submit them to online article directories. Be sure to hyperlink your targeted keyword phrase back to your website in the resource box of the article.

2. Deep link. This is a good strategy for driving traffic to web pages you have other than your home page.

You can develop backlinks by deep linking to these pages when you put a link on other web pages you have. You can also link directly to these pages in all of your marketing strategies including article marketing.

3. Blog. When you make a blog post you should bookmark it to social directories. I use Only Wire for this.

Search engine spiders these social directories every day. When they find your link they will come back to your blog which helps you rank on the search engine for the keyword phrases you are blogging about.

4. Blog comments. This is a simple strategy where you post comments on other people’s blogs. Rather than include your name, list a keyword phrase in the name field. Then include your website URL.

5. Discussion forums. Join relevant forms and set up a signature file. Link back to your website in a signature file and every time you make a post you get it backlink. Do this on do blogs that provide do follow links.

6. Guest blogger. Write blog articles and submit them to other bloggers.

Make sure each article is unique and only submitted one time. Most bloggers will allow you to include one or two links in either a resource box or in the body of your blog article.

7. Submit Your Article. Use their patented Article Leverage program to send unique articles to hundreds of article directories. Your articles can also be picked up by other Internet marketers, ezine publishers, and so on.

8. Free Traffic System. Submit blog articles into their system.

You can include up to three links in the body of your article if you are a Pro Member and 2 if you are a free member. This is a good place to link back to inner pages on your website and develop a broad range of backlinks on other people’s blogs.

9. Buy text link ads. Look for established websites or blogs that will sell you a link on their site.

10. Trade links. Find relevant websites that do not compete with you and place their link on your site if they add your link to theirs.

These are 10 possible ways you can get backlinks to your website, blog, and inner web pages. This is the best long-term strategy for developing ongoing traffic.

Ways to Build Anchor Text Backlinks

Saturday, April 2nd, 2011

To improve your search engines ranking you need a good amount of high quality anchor text backlinks. The number of backlinks you need varies depending on the keyword you are targeting but if you visit a backlink checker tool you will be able to find out how many links your competitors have and this will give you an idea of how many links your site needs to get ahead of these sites.

Here are a few tips for building anchor text backlinks:

Write articles on a regular basis and submit these to the best article directories. As well as getting you some nice backlinks, if your article is interesting and useful it may also be picked up for publishing by other webmasters, giving you even more links.

2) Get involved in as many forums as possible and make sure that your link is included with your signature. Forums get updated all of the time and search engines love this type of content. Make lots of posts in the forum but be careful not to spam. Ask questions and make useful comments.

There are many blogs online and it is easy to find one, add your comment and include a link to your website. This is very simple and does not take a lot of time. Find blog posts that interest you and leave a useful comment. Be sure not to spam with a comment like “nice post” or “I agree” as this is the easiest way to get your comment deleted.

4) Submit your site to online directories. There are hundreds of directories online and you can submit your site to a few quality directories on a regular basis. Miss out the directories that ask for reciprocal links as these are not as valuable as one way links.

5) Use more than one keyword when you are creating your backlinks. You can optimize each page on your site for 1-3 keyword phrases and build links using different keywords and different links to your site. This is a more natural way of building links and will also result in more traffic for more keywords.

Remember to do link building regularly and evenly and most importantly include your keywords in the anchor text of every link that you build.

Using anchor text backlinks can help you to to improve search engine rank quickly.. Choosing the perfect set of keywords is important and also knowing how to use your backlinks is a must. When you master this skill, you will know how to optimize your backlinks and your traffic will show it.
