For all you subscribers to my RSS feed and all other interested parties I would like to announce that there is an new article posted on the main ‘Before You Buy a WebSite’ site. This is the article I warned you about earlier. It is an analysis (opinion) about an offer of free affiliate websites that I ran across. I checked the program out, watched the video and at least skimmed the landing page. I give you my analysis and opinion of the program that is offered.

I had collected some additional material that I ended up not using in this article. That means that there is fuel for another article in the near future. I also thought of another program that I should write up for the site. That makes two articles that should appear soon, so stay tuned! If you didn’t subscribe to my RSS feed yet, now would be a good time. I will post an announcement as soon as the articles are finished.

While I was working on the site I went ahead and did the cosmetic update as well. I re-arranged things a bit. The home page had too much information on it (these things grow) so I added a Mission Statement page using part of the material that I previously had on the home page. I also moved the articles index to the left column and will put some banner at towers in rotation on the right. When you visit a page hit refresh. The banner will change most of the time. (If you hurry you might even catch the ‘Coming Soon’ sign in the box.)

I am working on a review article on a free affiliate website offer that I have recently run across. I have now joined three of the major affiliate networks. I plan, in the near future, to put up a page that gives my impression of each of them. I may figure how to put up a three column comparison page, but if not in the three column format there will still be a comparison page. I suspect that I can build a table in my html editor and copy and paste it into the post box without too much problem.

I had joined Commission Junction several months ago, but did not do anything with them until recently. I then found LinkShare and PepperJam. The three networks provide basically the same service and many of the advertisers are signed up with more than one of the networks. The site navigation is a bit different on each of the sites as well as the programs and services offered. It takes a while to get familiar with the sites. The pages that I plan will discuss navigation on the sites and the programs that each offers. These pages should be a valuable resource for those starting out with the various networks.

The WordPress software that I am using makes it easy to edit an existing page. This means that I can put the page up and then expand the page easily at a later date. I will also make a blog post announcing the pages and when I amplify a page I will also announce the edit, so subscribe to my RSS feed so that you can be informed when these pages and updates are available.

In this blog I intend to examine, at least superficially, some of the ways being promoted to make money on the web. There are thousands, if not millions, of sales pages for get rich quick schemes for the unwary web newbie. While there are a few good programs that have the potential to make a good profit from your website, with the vast majority of these sales pages the only one making real money is the person promoting the page. When I find a program with substance I will probably devote a page to it. If I think that a page should be viewed with caution I will try to state my reasons for that, too.
